Aditional Techiques

Cupping or Suction Cup Therapy is a technique that employs negative pressure. Instead of direct pressure or tissue compression as done in massage therapy and other manual techniques, Cupping uses suction to create the negative pressure. This technique lifts connective tissue and loosens adhesions allowing blood and oxygen to flow easily through the tissues again. When this happens muscles that are tight, knotted, or sore relax which feels great! It also allows excess fluids and toxins to be released.

Cupping can address many debilitating and stubborn conditions as well as be used for general relaxation. It can be combined with other therapies such as acupuncture, Gua sha and even manual techniques. It is gaining in popularity as seen on athletes in the 2016 Rio Olympics. The visual effects of cupping - round hicky like marks on the skin where lactic acid build up was released from athletes was seen on some swimmers and gymnasts.
